This webinar took place on Monday June 15, 2020.
We’ve all been shocked and saddened by the events in Minneapolis on May 25. George Floyd, an unarmed black man, died after being detained by Minneapolis police. Four police officers have been fired as a result, and the United States has plunged into a frank and raw conversation about race and the systemic issues we all face.
What can coaches learn from this tragic situation? More directly, what can WHITE coaches learn about ourselves and the skills we use every day to facilitate growth and change? On June 15 at 7 pm Eastern, Dr. Ramon Pastrano, a Minneapolis cultural competence teacher and trainer, will join CoachNet’s Jonathan Reitz to discuss how coaches can be a part of the solution. How will your coaching be affected by the racial conversation going on in the world today?
Learning Outcomes for this One Hour Webinar:
– Identify sources of bias in your coaching and what you can do about them.
– Develop culturally competent language around coaching engagements that supports racially sensitive outcomes.
– Learn to handle charged topics with sensitivity and care that serve your clients.
